The wait is over, the Jersey City real estate market has been anticipating the completion of the long awaited Monaco Towers, a luxury rental community on Washington Boulevard spanning from the fourth to the sixth streets directly across from the New Jersey waterfront. This Roseland project has been long anticipated. The Jersey City rental complex includes two towers, namely the Monaco North and Monaco South, the former having 243 rental units along with 187 parking spaces while the latter having 281 rental units along with 223 parking spaces. The third tower, named San Remo was supposed to be constructed at the south side of the complex originally but its construction was delayed indefinitely.
The Monaco Towers were built on the former parking lot that belonged to the Doubletree Hotel. Earlier, the project was approved as a condo tower but it was later converted to a Jersey City rental complex. The developer of this project, Carl Goldberg requested the city of New Jersey to make the tax abatement a more lucrative one claiming that the bottom line of the project would be hurt by the credit crisis. Though the city agreed, the city of Jersey City made it mandatory that the project begin development as soon as possible in order to keep the special abatement.
Today, after completion, the Monaco Towers stand 50-stories high with more than 540 Jersey City rental apartments. This Jersey City luxury rental community includes, apart from the rental apartments, several other facilities like a health and fitness center with an outdoor swimming pool that is heated, a business center and 24 hour valet and concierge services. The Monaco towers residents are provided with numerous additional amenities included within the communities facilities: a clubroom and a theater, lounge, spa, sundeck and the added advantage of Wi-Fi throughout the common areas. The various perks provided within these homes include oversized windows, individually controlled air conditioning and cooling systems for each unit, expansive foyers, stainless steel appliances, granite counters, dining and living rooms with hardwood floors, stackable washer and dryer, dishwashers, microwave ovens built in, refrigerators along with icemakers and cabins with raised panels.
In addition to all the luxuries that the tenants of the Monaco Towers have to enjoy, when it comes to Jersey City real estate the view is king. Whether it’s a Hudson River, Statue of Liberty or the captivating New York City skyline view, from the Monaco Towers large windows you likely won’t be disappointed. Couple the views with a simple 2 block walk to the Newport PATH train, Newport Center mall, Light Rail, ferry, numerous grocery store and restaurants should make this luxury rental apartment community a popular choice many Jersey City residents. Future plans include developing a luxury hotel with 313 rooms. The ground floor of the complex which spans an area of over 11,000 square feet has been allotted as retail space.
